Fireproof cable is a kind of cable with flame retardant properties, which is used in electrical circuits in buildings to improve safety performance in case of fire. The reliability of this kind of cable refers to its ability to maintain under normal working conditions and its effective fire protection ability in the event of a fire.
Flame retardant cables are suitable for fixed laying on transmission and distribution lines with AC 50Hz and voltage levels of 1kV and below for power transmission; they are mainly used in places with high flame-retardant requirements such as hotels, banks, hospitals, construction sites, schools and residences.
It is manufactured with special materials and structural design, which makes it have a long service life under standard working conditions. The conductor of the fireproof cable is made of pure copper or copper alloy, which has excellent electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance, and ensures the normal transmission of current. At the same time, the insulation layer of the fireproof cable is made of high-quality halogen-free material, which has good insulation performance and high temperature resistance, and can effectively prevent the occurrence of faults such as short circuit or power failure.
The outer sheath of fire-resistant cables is usually made of high-temperature-resistant and flame-resistant materials, such as silicone rubber or special polymers, which have good flame-retardant properties. Once a fire occurs, the outer sheath of the fireproof cable can play an effective role in fire isolation, prevent the spread of the flame and the expansion of the fire, and effectively protect the surrounding environment and other electrical equipment from the fire. In addition, the flame retardant performance of the fireproof cable also enables it to effectively delay the burning speed of the cable when a fire occurs, reducing the fire hazard to other equipment and personnel.
Because flame retardant cables are usually used inside buildings, the ambient temperature is relatively high, so they need to have certain heat resistance. The structure and material of the fireproof cable enable it to maintain normal operation in a high temperature environment, and the cable will not be degraded or damaged due to temperature rise, ensuring reliable power supply of electrical lines.
1. Observe the appearance of the wire. The insulation (sheath) layer of the qualified product is soft, tough, and extended, and the surface layer is tight, smooth, and has no rough feeling. If the plastic covering the wire is easy to peel off, there is a problem of insufficient plastic strength.
2. Observe the cross-section of the wire. The surface of the copper core of the qualified product needs a metallic luster, and the copper with a black surface indicates that it is oxidized.
3. Pay attention to confirm the quality certificate when purchasing wires. If the quality of the wire is qualified, the quality of the wire will also be inspected. There should be no problem with this.
However, we also need to note that the reliability of flame retardant cables is also related to its construction and maintenance links. During the construction process, installation should be carried out in strict accordance with relevant standards and specifications to ensure the quality of cable laying and connection. At the same time, in daily maintenance, regular cable inspections and inspections should be carried out to detect and eliminate potential failures in time to ensure the normal operation of electrical circuits.
In general, flame retardant cables have high reliability, can maintain stable working performance under normal working conditions, and can provide effective fireproof protection when a fire occurs. However, in order to ensure the reliability of fireproof cables, we also need to strengthen management and pay attention to details during construction and maintenance to achieve better application results.
